Forgiveness is the most powerful tool available to the Christian. At the same time, forgiveness is the most underutilized tool of the Christian life. Relationships are strained or broken, lives are fragmented, marriages ended, family bonds broken, churches split, new denominations formed, nations divided, wars fought, a world splintered – all because of the failure to forgive among people.
In the loving Christian community, forgiveness must be a central part. Without forgiveness we will be entrenched in the poison of death. When forgiveness becomes our lifeline to one another, then we will fully experience God’s forgiveness of us. When we forgive others we demonstrate that we understand and apply God’s forgiveness of us. Let us and the Body of Christ live in the reality of God’s forgiveness of us by working and walking in the forgiveness of others. May God extend us the grace today to embrace this truth for His glory to be seen in His glorious Church!
